Since the commencement ceremony of the project on July 12, 2019, the project has faced numerous difficulties from design to on-site construction, resulting in a serious delay in its progress.
In order to fulfill the contract, the project department adjusted its schedules, formulated a thorough construction plan and gradually caught up with the construction timetable.
Through the joint efforts of all the project's employees, the adverse effects of a lagging design, old equipment, insufficient staffing and the effects of the novel coronavirus outbreak have been gradually overcome.
With a total length of 254 kilometers, the project is located in Mkushi town in the Central Province in Zambia, consisting of seven sections of road.
The development is applying a new project mode that combines design, construction and maintenance, and has high requirements for the contractor's designs and construction capabilities.
It is a key project of the Zambian government, to improve the travel of its people by improving the quality of its rural roads.
The handover of first section of the road will create a more convenient, safe and reliable road travel environment for local residents along the route.
It will also allow rural residents to go out and sell crops, thus promoting the development of local agriculture.
