POWERCHINA wins Middle East maritime project contract

Sinohydro Bureau 3 Co and Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co, subsidiaries of POWERCHINA, recently won the bidding to be subcontractors for a prestigious maritime project in Saudi Arabia.

They signed contracts on Sept 10 in Saudi Arabia to work for existing subcontractors Archirodon and Huta Environment, for the Maritime Yard Project for the King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services.

Archirodon and Huta Environment, existing subcontractors of the project, are local construction companies in Greece and Saudi Arabia, respectively. They are well-known in the Middle East and both have made notable achievements in the field of maritime engineering construction.

The latest project mainly includes the superstructure of No 1, 2 and 7 wharfs, a ship lifts area, dock track beam extension and barge berth -- as well as construction and installation of auxiliary facilities for coast guard floating dock and wharf wall above 2.5 meters in height.

The successful signing of the subcontract laid a solid foundation for the next step in the group's maritime engineering construction work.
