The dam is located in the northern part of Seychelles. The main construction work covers the heightening of the existing dam and anti-seepage treatment for the north and south secondary dams.

There is also the upgrading of the existing water intake tower, the construction of the spillway on the right bank and the replacement of all pipes and pipe fittings in the water intake tower and tunnel.

Since the start of construction, the project department has continuously overcome many difficulties such as having to move camp repeatedly, continuous rainfall during the rainy season and the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

They had optimized the construction plan and adjusted the construction schedule to complete the key construction points of the project on time.

The La Gogue dam renovation project is a major national project, the largest livelihood project under construction and the largest source of fresh water in the Seychelles.

After completion, it will greatly alleviate the water supply problems of residents, improve the quality of life of people and promote regional economic development.

It is also of great significance to deepening the friendship between China and Seychelles and furthering cooperation between the two countries, laying a solid foundation for POWERCHINA to further develop its international markets.
