The first batch of 500- kilovolt supporting transmission steel towers for Baihetan Hydropower Station, was provided and delivered by POWERCHINA Chengdu Steel Tower Company. They have since been put into use.

Baihetan Hydropower Station, which has a capacity of 16,000 megawatts, is a key project of the West-to-East Power Transmission national strategic deployment. Located on the main stream of the Jinsha River, Baihetan is currently the largest hydropower station under construction in the world, with the largest single unit capacity.

POWERCHINA Chengdu Steel Tower Company undertook the supply of two steel towers, weighing 5,500 metric tons, in the 500kV transmission line projects of the Yuecheng-Butuo converter station and the Yangfanggou-Yazhong converter station.

In order to promote the smooth progress of the project, the company has attached great importance to the supply task, setting up a special working group for project performance that focused on technology digestion, raw material procurement, production planning, and distribution guarantee.

It also carried out its work while following the work requirements that followed strict COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures, as well as production and work resumption measures.

The company has been committed to continuing to do a good job in the next stage of supply work, striving to build the Baihetan Hydropower Station transmission project into a high-quality project and making greater contributions to the country's power grid construction.
