A bid by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, won the tender for a major upgrade and renovation project of the sewage system in the Vitebsk region of Belarus on Oct 5.
With a projected construction schedule of 36 months, the main contract includes the upgrade and reconstruction of three local sewage pumping stations, as well as the sewage pipe network system.
It also includes the dismantling of existing waste sewage concrete treatment plant, equipment installation and debugging, road traffic planning and diversions and the greening of sites.
The contract was another achievement by Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co, reflecting its solid and dependable performance, even when the international construction industry was hit hard by the global COVID-19 epidemic.
It was also a new achievement made by the company in the Vitebsk region of Belarus that will further raise its profile in the region.
Previously, Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co has built Vitebsk Hydropower Station in Belarus, known as the "Three Gorges of Belarus" and the country's biggest hydropower station.
The power station has an average annual power generation capacity of 138 million kilowatt hours.
It is a key project in the economic and technological cooperation between China and Belarus, as well as being an important symbol of the achievements in strategic Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries.
