The first batch of wind turbines at Shigaitang Wind Power Plant in Central China's Hunan province was connected to the power grid on Sept 24. The project, which is now officially in its operational stage, was invested in and built by POWERCHINA.
Located in Yuefeng township, Beihu district, Chenzhou city in Hunan province, the project has a planned installed capacity of 50 megawatts, with plans to install 25 2-MW wind turbines.

The facility also shares a 110-kilovolt booster station with Jiangkou Wind Farm, which effectively reduces operating costs and further improves project profitability.
After the project is fully completed, it is estimated that it will generate annual on-grid power of 98.62 million kilowatt-hours, save 32,000 metric tons of standard coal annually and eliminate 76,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The plant will contribute to local economic development and environmental protection.
Since development began on the facility, POWERCHINA has worked tirelessly to overcome the adverse effects that the COVID-19 epidemic has had on construction and ensure the project's orderly progress.
In the future, the company will strengthen communication and coordination with all participating units and promote the commissioning of units in an orderly and efficient manner to realize the project's full capacity grid connection.
