The Chinese-built Pangkalan Susu coal-fired power station in Indonesia recently won second prize in the operation and maintenance category at annual awards presented by Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) -- Indonesia's only state-owned enterprise in the power sector.

During its one-year warranty period, the power station ran at an excellent 96.3 percent of installed capacity, with a load reduction factor of 4.6 percent and the annual total power generated exceeded 3 billion kilowatt hours.
Constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 12 Co, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, the power generation capacity of the power station accounts for 16 percent of the total demand in the Indonesian province of North Sumatra.

The company's project department had also trained a technical and management team to carry out future operation and maintenance of the thermal power plant.
