Tomislav Momirovic, minister of the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure of Serbia, went on an inspection tour of Section B of the Belgrade Belt Highway Project undertaken by POWERCHINA on Nov 7.
Momirovic had a meeting with the Serbian representative of POWERCHINA, the Serbian branch of POWERCHINA, and the relevant person in charge of the project department regarding the implementation of the project. He then went on inspection tour of the project site and learned about the construction progress.
During the meeting and accompanying inspection tour, representatives of POWERCHINA reported on the progress of the project and gave detailed answers to the minister's questions of the minister, mainly introducing the project's various COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, as well as their actions to effectively promote the implementation of the project based on the strict COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures.
Momirovic praised the overall status of the project and expressed gratitude to POWERCHINA for its contributions to Serbia during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also put forward specific requirements for the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, as well as for the construction production of future projects. He added that he will lead the Serbian team to fully support POWERCHINA, as well as solve the problems faced in the project construction process as quickly as possible.
Momirovic stressed that the Belgrade Belt Highway Project is of great significance to local economic development and bolstering the livelihood of local residents. He added that he expects that POWERCHINA will accelerate implementation of the project and complete it as soon as possible.
Section B of the Belgrade Belt Highway Project is located in a suburb of Belgrade. The project's goal is to rebuild and expand a 20.34-kilometer expressway with a preferential foreign aid loan from the Chinese government.
