China-Laos Railway: A new journey to the world

The China-Laos Railway, a 1,000-kilometer-long railway that runs from Kunming in Southwest China's Yunnan province to Vientiane, Laos, carries Laos' national dream of turning into a land-connected country, and bears the hopes of people of both countries for the future. As an overseas railway project mainly invested and built by China, it is jointly operated by the two countries and directly connected to the Chinese railway network. The China-Laos Railway is allowing allow Lao people to travel the world by train, and to realize their dreams step by step, said Khemmany Pholsena, head of the President's Office of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
