Relying on the whole industry chain advantages of "investment, construction, and operation", POWERCHINA has continuously optimized its resources, thoroughly planned its work and striven to minimize the effects of the pandemic on the project. It has been highly praised by the Chinese embassy in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for its high-quality achievements.

Since the unit entered whole set trial operation, all participating construction and operation and maintenance teams have strictly implemented the requirements of the whole set of startup plans. They have carried out various tests and defect management in an orderly manner, achieving success in key links such as boiler ignition, the first running, and speed control, which have laid a solid foundation for the smooth grid connection of the unit.

Barisal Power Plant is the first IPP power project invested and constructed by a Chinese enterprise in Bangladesh. The power station fully adopts Chinese schemes, technologies, and equipment, and its pollutant discharge indicators are stricter than the World Bank's environmental guidelines and Bangladesh's environmental standards. When in operation, it is capable of generating 2.275 billion kWh of safe, clean, and stable electricity to the national grid of Bangladesh annually, which can meet the needs of more than 5 million local people. It has injected strong momentum into economic and social development and become a new benchmark for cooperation between Bangladesh and China in the energy field.

POWERCHINA has always adhered to the concept of localized operation and actively fulfilled its social responsibilities. More than 5,000 local skilled workers and over 30 mid-to-high-end local talents have been employed, greatly easing the local employment situation and stimulating the rise of surrounding supporting industries. In addition, POWERCHINA has also participated in social welfare undertakings, such as donating to orphans, repairing village roads, beautifying the community, donating epidemic prevention supplies, and carrying out activities to build government-enterprise friendship, which has been well received by locals.
