Updated: January 11,2023

The China Association of Construction Enterprise Management recently announced the list of National Quality Engineering Awards for 2022-2023, and the fishing harbor built by POWERCHINA in the country of Mauritania made it onto the list.

The National Quality Engineering Award is the oldest national quality award in China's engineering construction field confirmed by the State Council, China's Cabinet, with the highest specifications.

Located 60 kilometers north of the capital of Mauritania, the project is one of the key livelihood projects funded by the local government in the past 10 years and it is also the only commercial fishing harbor in Mauritania.

It has complete support facilities, including electricity, network, fuel supplies, seawater desalination and ice-making equipment, a fish product trading place and a harbor management office.

Since its operation, the harbor has handled fishing boats from China, Turkey, Spain and other countries, creating favorable conditions for the economic development of Mauritius and marking a new level for the country's commercial fishing industry.

During construction, POWERCHINA promoted the application of Chinese standards in the overall harbor layout, pile foundations, construction of buildings and seawater desalination.

In addition, green construction innovations have been utilized to save energy, materials and water, and to protect the environment.
