POWERCHINA signed an EPC contract with Baowu Clean Energy Co to build the Zabuye integrated energy supply project which will involve a power supply, grid, load, and energy storage in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, on March 9.
The project is located on the southeast side of Zabuye Salt Lake, about 165 kilometers north of Zhongba county in Shigatse city in Tibet, at an altitude of more than 4,500 meters.
It is the world's first project to use a trough-type photo thermal power plant as the main power source, realize clean energy from an isolated grid operation at a highaltitude and provide a 24-hour safe, stable and reliable comprehensive energy supply.
It can provide energy support for the development of lithium resources at Zabuye Salt Lake, drive the economic development of Tibet and contribute good energy-saving and environmental protection effects and social benefits.
As its first trough-type solar thermal power station project with an EPC contract in China, the project is of great significance for POWERCHINA.
It can effectively help POWERCHINA explore the implementation of projects in plateau areas, accumulate engineering construction know-howat high-altitude areas, and verify the technology of plateau trough-type solar thermal power plants.
