Senior officers attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the project in Mansehra, Pakistan.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the 765 kV Mansehra Substation was held in Mansehra, Pakistan on March 20, which is undertaken by POWERCHINA.
Khurram Dastgir Khan, Pakistan's minister of energy, and Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, director of Pakistan National Transmission & Despatch Company, attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the minister stated in his speech that the substation will be the highest-level of its kind in Pakistan, and will be an important hub for the transmission of clean electricity to the national grid. It is projected to generate an annual energy generation of 2,160 MW of electricity to the national grid after going into production.
He added that the substation will effectively make up for the current power shortage in Pakistan, provide a large number of local jobs, as well as promote local economic development.
In this way, he called for the active cooperation of relevant parties involved in the project to ensure the smooth progress of the substation’s construction.
The substation will also enhance the performance and experience of POWERCHINA for future overseas substation projects.
