POWERCHINA inks contract for Kahama PV project with a local contractor in Tanzania.
POWERCHINA officially signed a contractual agreement with local contractor SSI Energy Tanzania Limited on May 2, marking a significant milestone in the development of the Kahama photovoltaic (PV) project, the first of its kind in Tanzania.
This landmark agreement holds immense promise for enhancing the energy landscape of the country and propelling the growth of local clean energy initiatives.
The Kahama PV project, located in the Shinyanga province of Tanzania, boasts an installed capacity of 10.33 MW. Under the terms of the contract, POWERCHINA is responsible for several crucial aspects of the project, including the meticulous design, procurement of cutting-edge equipment, and the civil construction and installation of the photovoltaic field area, as well as 3-kilometer transmission line.
The company will use advanced technology to ensure optimal power generation efficiency throughout the project's lifecycle. Upon its operational commencement, the electricity generated by the Kahama PV project is scheduled to be integrated into the national grid, effectively meeting the electricity consumption needs of local residents and driving the advancement of regional local economic development.
