Although Eswatini has yet to establish diplomatic relations with China, POWERCHINA has finally been recognized by the owner and signed the contract for the project due to its brand influence in the southern African region.

The Eswatini Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise is the owner of the project, which is situated in the Shiselweni Region in southern Eswatini.

The project has a scheduled construction duration of 1,550 days. The project includes the construction of a 67-meter-high clay core rockfill dam, a supporting stilling basin, a 10-kilometer permanent access road, the owner's camp, and the installation of dam instruments.

Eswatini takes agriculture as its central economic pillar. After completion, the project will promote the country's agricultural development, ensure food security, and realize the diversification of crop planting, which is also significant to eradicating hunger and poverty in the country and will contribute to regional and global development goals.
