A signing ceremony for a contract for the Equatorial Guinea and Gabon grid interconnection project is held in Equatorial Guinea.
A signing ceremony for a contract for the Equatorial Guinea and Gabon grid interconnection project between POWERCHINA and the government of Equatorial Guinea was held on May 17, with Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, vice president of Equatorial Guinea, attending.
In 2007, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon signed a cooperation agreement for the cross-border power grid project, which will promote the diversification of the country's income and contribute to the economic integration of the Central African regional community.
During the ceremony, Mangue said that the project is an important initiative within the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and holds great political significance. It is expected to provide jobs for locals and improve their lives.
POWERCHINA has been committed to the construction of the country’s electrical power industry for over 20 years, making it a trusted partner of Equatorial Guinea, he added.
The successful signing of the project is not only an affirmation of POWERCHINA's strong performance by the Equatorial Guinean government, but also a recognition of the company's professional abilities and strong working attitude.
The company plans to continue to deepen cooperation with the Equatorial Guinean government, participate more actively and deeply in the development of the Equatorial Guinean energy industry, and promote local economic and social development.
