The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway.
The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, which is being built by POWERCHINA, began joint testing in Indonesia on May 22, marking a significant step forward in the construction of the railway.
The high-speed railway, which has a total length of 142.3 kilometers and a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour, connects Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, with the tourist city of Bandung. It is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative and a strong example of cooperation between China and Indonesia. Since the project began in June 2018, the heads of the two countries have attached great importance to the railway.
The railway also marks the first time China's high-speed railway has adopted Chinese technology and Chinese standards on an overseas construction project in every facet of construction and operation.
The railway will reduce the travel time from Jakarta to Bandung from over three hours to 40 minutes, which is expected to greatly improve local transportation and drive economic and social development.
The project has successfully passed static acceptance and entered the joint testing stage. POWERCHINA will continue to ensure the project's safety and quality in order to open on schedule.
