POWERCHINA received a completion certificate for the Nacala Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution Network and a letter of praise from the network owner in Mozambique on May 25, the day that the network was officially handed over to the owner.

The owner praised POWERCHINA for overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges and completing the network in a timely and high-quality manner despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nacala Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution Network is located in Nacala, Nampula province, Mozambique. It includes approximately 312 kilometers of 33 kV medium voltage electric lines, 57 transformers, 3,000 street lights, 6,000 electricity meters, approximately 180 kilometers of 0.4 kV low voltage electric lines, 2 outdoor switch stations, and 8 kilometers of buried cables.

Upon completion, the network, as the fifth section of the Mozambique Power Efficiency and Reliability Improvement Project, will provide stable power supply for local residents, promote local economic development, and further help Mozambique achieve its strategic goal of universal electrification by 2030.

During the construction period, POWERCHINA also organized donation activities to local institutions such as police stations, schools, and maternity hospitals to fulfill its social responsibility.

The network is the company's first completed transmission and transformation project in Mozambique. The completion of the network has increased the local owner's recognition and trust in POWERCHINA, laying a solid foundation for the company to expand its power market in Mozambique.
