Uzbekistan project praised by PM

Abdulla Aripov, prime minister of Uzbekistan, visits the Zarafshan Wind Power Project.

A delegation led by Abdulla Aripov, prime minister of Uzbekistan, recently visited the Zarafshan Wind Power Project constructed by POWERCHINA in an EPC way.

The Zarafshan Wind Power Project is the first of its scale in the country, with a total installed capacity of 500MW. It is expected to start generating power by the end of this year, making it the largest operational wind power project in Central Asia.

The delegation visited key construction areas such as the wind turbine hoisting zone, step-up substation, and wind turbine foundations. They were briefed on overall construction progress and future construction schedule.

During the visit, Abdulla Aripov praised the high-quality of the construction technology used in the project and thanked the project team for their hard work.

He also emphasized the importance of the project for the country's energy transition, economic development, and environmental sustainability.

The repeated visits by the prime minister and government officials of Uzbekistan reflect the high importance the government places on the project. POWERCHINA will continue to advance the project with quality and efficiency, contributing to the improvement of local people's livelihoods and supporting local economic and social development.
