The sports stadium at Maejo University in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand.
The sports stadium at Maejo University, undertaken by POWERCHINA, was successfully completed and accepted by the owner in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on July 11.
The completion of the stadium fills the gap of Maejo University not having a large-scale comprehensive sports venue and provides a multi-functional sports stadium that integrates mass sports exercise, competitive sports training and competitions, and artistic performances.
The stadium will not only meet the cultural and sporting needs of local residents and improve their quality of life, but also play a significant role in enhancing the city's image and promoting urban development.
The stadium has a construction area of 14,000 square meters and comprises an underground parking lot, a three-story building, and a steel roof truss. The total weight of the roof is about 600 metric tons, making it the heaviest and most difficult-to-build steel structure in Chiang Mai.
The construction of the stadium follows the concept of a multi-purpose venue and includes facilities for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, and a fitness center.
The architectural form is specially designed with interconnected triangles, which, by introducing the concept of "an unordered bouquet," gives it the appearance of blooming flowers endlessly, symbolizing love, unity, and harmony.
