On Oct 25, the 315 MW Cauchari Solar Park Phase I Project in Jujuy province, Argentina, financed by the China Export-Import Bank and built by POWERCHINA, was officially and finally signed over to the owner.

This marks the end of the project's warranty period. The Cauchari photovoltaic project is also the first project in Argentina fully handed over by POWERCHINNA.

The Cauchari Solar Park is the highest-altitude and largest-capacity photovoltaic project in South America. It is also the largest photovoltaic project completed by POWERCHINA in the Argentine market.

Located in the heartland of the Andes at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, the project has an installed capacity of 315 megawatts. It was jointly signed into effect by the leaders of the two countries on May 17, 2017, and officially commenced commercial operations on Sept 26, 2020.

The owner highly commended POWERCHINA for its performance, and during the acceptance ceremony, the owner's representative stated, "The completion and successful handover of the Cauchari Solar Park signify Argentina's solid strides in the field of new energy. We firmly believe that this clean energy project will inject new vitality into Argentina's sustainable development."

As of the handover, it has generated 2.41 million megawatt-hours of electricity, reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 325,000 metric tons.

The project, which is dubbed "the sunflower blooms in the Andes" by locals, received significant praise from Argentina.
