The Zero-Carbon Mission International Climate Summit was held on Nov 1 in Beijing. The Green Development Annual Tribute Award, as part of the summit, honored POWERCHINA with a place on the list of Top 10 cases of BRI ESG Excellence.
The list recognizes the top 10 companies that have shown outstanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performances. These companies were selected based on the 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Performance and the 2022 China’s Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Overseas lists, both of which were released by the China International Contractors Association.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, professional institutions were hired to assess companies based on their application projects. Their scoring criteria cover economic, social, environmental, and corporate governance indicators.
These assessments have also undergone scrutiny by an expert committee that is composed of government departments, financial institutions, international organizations, and think tanks.
In recent years, POWERCHINA has actively participated in initiatives such as BRI, as they accelerate global development.
It has also actively participated in the global dual-carbon strategy to combat climate change. Based on the concept of sustainable development, the company has constructed an ESG management system that integrates ESG concepts with international business marketing and overseas engineering projects.
