During the COP28 summit, Peng Gang, deputy general manager of POWERCHINA Intl and general manager of the POWERCHINA Middle East and North Africa Regional Headquarters, was invited to attend the "Hydrogen Ignites the Future – China Pavilion Meeting on Low Carbon, Safety, and Climate Effects," jointly organized by the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China and the Environmental Defense Fund.
During the event, Peng, on behalf of relevant Chinese enterprises, unveiled the "Middle East Green Hydrogen Ecosystem Co-development" Strategic Collaboration Plan and delivered a keynote speech.
He said that Chinese enterprises are committed to collectively promoting the establishment of an ecological framework for China's new energy and hydrogen industries, advancing the development of the hydrogen and new energy industries in the Middle East, setting benchmarks, and driving innovation in hydrogen technology.
During the meeting, the "Safe, Climate-friendly and Sustainable Development of Hydrogen Energy" International Cooperation Initiative was proposed.
After the meeting, Peng was invited to be interviewed by CCTV's Middle East Station. During the interview, he discussed the promotion and prospects of green hydrogen in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as POWERCHINA's investments and contributions in the field of green hydrogen.
On the same day, he was also invited to participate in a forum titled "Green Power + Green Hydrogen supports MENA region zero carbon drive".
He provided an overview of POWERCHINA's implementation of new energy projects in the region, stating that as a leading global enterprise in the construction of infrastructure for power generation using new energy sources. POWERCHINA is committed to collaborating with partners in the industrial chain to facilitate the more robust and extensive development of global energy transition.
