POWERCHINA is honored to receive the China-Bangladesh Business Excellence Award in Bangladesh.
POWERCHINA, as the investor and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) general contractor of the S. AIam Project in Bangladesh, was honored to receive the China-Bangladesh Business Excellence Award for development contributions in the power and energy sector on Dec 21.
Jointly presented by the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) and the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCCI), the award aims to recognize the contributions made by businesses from Bangladesh and China to bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The S. AIam Project, as a benchmark project in the country's power and energy sector, stands out as the largest Independent Power Producer (IPP) project, the largest foreign investment project, and the largest joint venture between a private enterprise and a Chinese enterprise.
It has been recognized in multiple rounds of evaluations in the power and energy industry. This most recent award acknowledges the project's positive contributions to local social development and employment.
Approximately 380 people participated in the evaluation, including Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, officials from the Bangladeshi government, entrepreneurs from China and Bangladesh, and media personnel.
