Iraq PM attends school's handover ceremony

The No. 20 School in Nasiriyah, Iraq, constructed by POWERCHINA, is handed over on Jan 8.

On Jan 8, the No. 20 School in Nasiriyah, DhiQar Province, Iraq became the first school to be handed over among the 679 demonstration schools built by POWERCHINA. Mohammed Shia' AI Sudani, prime minister of Iraq, attended the handover ceremony.

During the ceremony, the prime minister praised POWRCHINA for its performance and the high quality of the school, while also expressing his appreciation for its contributions to Iraq. The prime minister also conveyed his gratitude to POWERCHINA for donating office furniture, classroom desks and chairs, and a number of experimental facilities.

The No. 20 School in Nasiriyah has a construction area of 2,005.79 square meters and includes laboratories, a library, public restrooms and a guard room with two floors above ground, a floor height of 3.6 meters, and a total building height of 10.6 meters. The school, with its 12 classrooms, can accommodate approximately 500 students.

In addition, the school is equipped with accessible pathways and dedicated restrooms, providing convenience for students with disabilities.
