A section of the 220kV transmission line.
The 220kilovolt transmission line section L61/64 and six new 220kV substations constructed by POWERCHINA in the Lualaba Province and Upper Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) recently passed inspection and have commenced power transmission, marking the successful completion of the project.
The project mainly includes two 220kV double-circuit transmission lines, L41 and L61, totaling 190 kilometers in length, as well as three substations and six new 220kV interval projects. These are divided into six sections.
POWERCHINA completed all project steps on time and to a high standard, earning commendation from supervisors, owners, and funders.
The project will greatly alleviate the electricity shortage in the mining areas of the funding party. It will also significantly ease electricity shortages for local residents along the transmission lines and in the vicinity of the mining areas, further improving local livelihoods and promoting the economic and social development of the two provinces.
