The Gouina Hydroelectric Power Plant, located on the Senegal River in the Republic of Mali and built by POWERCHINA, ended its warranty period and passed final inspections on March 20.

This final acceptance was conducted in two stages: technical pre-acceptance and on-site final acceptance. Through multiple online technical pre-acceptance meetings, a technical pre-acceptance expert group composed of the project owner, supervisory engineers, and POWERCHINA, reviewed the pre-acceptance technical documents.

On Feb 6, the expert group conducted a final inspection and acceptance meeting at the job site. On Feb 24, the expert group issued the project's final acceptance certificate.

During the warranty period, the Gouina Hydroelectric Power Plant has an annual electricity generation capacity of 652 million kilowatt-hours, with all electricity generation indicators meeting or exceeding the contract amount by approximately 9.6 percent. So far, this project's cumulative electricity generation has reached 1.26 billion kWh.

The Gouina Hydroelectric Power Plant was invested in by the Senegal River Basin Organization (OMVS), which was established by three countries: Mali, Mauritania, and Senegal. Situated on the Senegal River within Mali, the power plant has a total installed capacity of 140 megawatts. The power plant commenced construction on Nov 15, 2016, and was completed on Dec 3, 2022.

Since the power plant commenced operations, it has generated approximately 620 million kWh of clean electricity annually to the countries involved in the river basin. This has significantly improved the local electricity supply and promoted economic and social development of these countries.
