The Boardwalk underneath Island Eastern Corridor in Hong Kong, constructed by POWERCHINA, was honored with several safety awards in the "Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme 2023/2024" in Hong Kong on April 28.

These awards include the Civil Engineering Construction Site Bronze Award, the Most Enthusiastic Support Site Award, the Outstanding Subcontractor Award, and the Construction Industry Safety Team Bronze Award.

The Construction Industry Safety Award Scheme is jointly organized by government agencies such as the Hong Kong Labour Department, the Occupational Safety and Health Council, and the Development Bureau. It is a prestigious awards ceremony in the Hong Kong construction industry, aimed at recognizing general contractors, subcontractors, and construction industry professionals who have demonstrated outstanding performance in occupational safety and health. The scheme aims to enhance awareness of occupational safety and health, while also promoting a safety culture.

The Boardwalk underneath Island Eastern Corridor spans from Oil Street to Hoi Yu Street. The main project involves constructing a pedestrian boardwalk approximately 2.2 kilometers long and 10 meters wide beneath the Eastern Corridor (elevated bridge).

POWERCHINA has consistently prioritized safety as a top priority, actively utilizing smart construction equipment, AI cameras, positioning devices, smart monitors, underwater robots, vehicle tracking systems, and other intelligent management tools to enhance safety management practices. Since the project started construction, no safety incidents have occurred.
