On April 28-29, POWERCHINA held media open days in the Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant and the Cox's Bazar Wind Farm, both of which were constructed by POWERCHINA in Bangladesh.

The event included presentations on the projects, interactive Q&A sessions, and site visits. Several mainstream Bangladeshi media outlets, including the Daily Star, Financial Express, The Business Standard, RTV, and Desh TV, participated in the events.

The Dasherkandi Sewage Treatment Plant has a daily sewage treatment capacity of 500,000 cubic meters and is capable of treating wastewater for 5 million residents of Dhaka. It can process approximately 180 million cu m of sewage annually, significantly improving water quality in Dhaka and enhancing the quality of life for local residents. The once polluted and odorous river and banks surrounding the plant area have now become clear and pristine, turning the area into a popular tourist destination.

The Cox's Bazar Wind Farm, Bangladesh's first centralized wind farm, commenced construction in September 2021 and entered commercial operation in March 2024. It is capable of providing over 145 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity, reducing coal consumption by 44,600 metric tons, decreasing carbon dioxide emissions by 109,200 tons, and meeting the electricity needs of 100,000 households per year. It plays a crucial role in increasing the usage rate of renewable energy in Bangladesh and promoting energy conservation and emissions reduction.
