A total four schools of the Iraq Demonstration School (Diwaniyah Province) project, built by POWERCHINA, successfully passed the owner's inspection on May 14.
The Iraq Demonstration School Project is currently the top project for the Iraqi government, as well as the largest ongoing livelihood project in the country.
The government has made preliminary plans for 1,000 schools, of which POWERCHINA is responsible for constructing 679, spread across 10 provinces in central and southern Iraq. The construction scope mainly includes the building's structure, water and electricity systems, ventilation and air-conditionings, and interior decoration. They are intended to be high-standard, modern schools.
To date, 11 schools of the total of 61 schools in Diwaniyah have received final approval. After the owners' approval committee conducted a comprehensive inspection and careful evaluation of the schools, the owner fully affirmed the project's construction results, stating that the facilities are complete, the quality is excellent, and the safety features are in place, meeting the project's construction standards and requirements.
