The groundbreaking ceremonies are held on May 22-23.

The groundbreaking ceremonies for Lot 7B, Lot 8B, and Lot 11B sections of the Benin Municipal Asphalt Road Project Phase B2, constructed by POWERCHINA, were officially held on May 22-23 in the respective cities of Parakou, Kandi, and Djougo, Benin.

Abdoulaye Bio Tchane, minister of State for the Development and Coordination of Government Action, and Alassane Seidou, minister of Interior and Public Security, attended the ceremonies and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Tchane stated that the Benin Municipal Asphalt Road Project Phase B2 is a key project in Benin's 2021-2026 Government Action Plan. It aims to repair and construct municipal roads in five major cities, including Cotonou and Parakou, thereby promoting urban development, improving urban traffic conditions, and enhancing the quality of life for the people.

At the ceremony, Tchane and Seidou unveiled the project and ceremonially broke ground at the project site, officially commencing construction. From 2018 to 2021, POWERCHINA built the Benin Municipal Asphalt Road Project Phase A Lot 2B, Lot 3B, and Lot 7B sections, and was the first company to pass temporary and final acceptance among all nine sections, setting a new benchmark.
