The Zina Solar PV Park achieves grid-connected power generation.
The Zina Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Park in Burkina Faso, the first photovoltaic project undertaken by POWERCHINA in the Central and West Africa region, recently achieved grid-connected power generation.
This milestone was witnessed by representatives from the World Bank, the project financier; AMEA Power, the Middle Eastern energy developer and project owner; and the Burkina Faso Electricity Company, among other stakeholders.
The Zina Solar PV Park is located in northwestern Burkina Faso and has a total installed capacity of 26.6 megawatts. The park will benefit over 43,000 local residents and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 13,200 metric tons annually.
Throughout the project’s implementation, POWERCHINA faced numerous challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the deteriorating regional security situation. The project successfully passed the grid connection test, meeting its goals and receiving high praise from the owner. This accomplishment fully demonstrates POWERCHINA's professional expertise.
