POWERCHINA's pavilion attracts many visitors.
POWERCHINA's project is awarded the Top 10 Highlights "Gigawatt Gold Award".
The 17th (2024) International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition (SNEC) was recently held in Shanghai. During the event, the SNEC "Top Ten Highlights Selection and Award Ceremony" took place, where the Qatar 800-megawatt AI Kharsaah Photovoltaic Power Station, built by POWERCHINA, was awarded the Top 10 Highlights "Gigawatt Gold Award".
The Top Ten Highlights Selection is a significant part of the exhibition. The expert jury evaluates participating companies' outstanding technologies and products based on factors such as advancement, originality, and societal impact. This selection aims to encourage and recognize technological innovation in the photovoltaic, energy storage, and hydrogen sectors, propelling the industry to the forefront of technology.
The Qatar photovoltaic power station is part of Qatar's "2030 National Vision". Covering an area equivalent to 1,400 standard football fields, it has over 1.8 million solar panels installed and is the world's largest photovoltaic power station using tracking systems and bifacial modules. Construction on the station began in 2020, and it achieved full capacity grid connection on Sep 26, 2022.
During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, POWERCHINA deeply integrated green and low-carbon energy with this international sporting event, using photovoltaic green electricity to illuminate the stadiums. Throughout the event, the photovoltaic power station provided 120 million kilowatt-hours of green power, strongly supporting Qatar's commitment to hosting a "carbon-neutral" World Cup.
