POWERCHINA signs contract for Malaysia's combined cycle gas power plant project

POWERCHINA signed the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the 500-megawatt Miri Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant Project with Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) on June 18 in Kuching, Malaysia.

Senior officials from the two companies attended the ceremony.

The Miri gas power plant project is located in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia, with a total installed capacity of 500 MW.

The main scope of construction work includes the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and trial operation of the power plant. Upon completion, the plant will significantly enhance clean energy utilization in Sarawak, provide a green and stable power supply to the local area, and contribute to the sustainable development of Malaysia's economy and society.

Since entering the Malaysian market in 1993, POWERCHINA has undertaken more than 150 projects with a total contract value exceeding $7 billion.
