POWERCHINA Municipal Company recently received the maintenance completion certificate for the Kenya Rural Road Section 193 project, marking the fulfillment of the contract obligations.
The section 193 project commenced on Dec 15, 2016 as one of the first projects for which an agreement was signed under Kenya's "10,000-kilometer Road Construction Plan". The project included a three-year construction period, a one-year defect liability period, and a three-year maintenance period, with the double surface road spanning 57 km.
Since the start of construction, POWERCHINA has meticulously planned and allocated resources, overcoming challenges such as long rainy seasons, completing all construction tasks to a high level of quality.
The section 193 project was approved and handed over on Mar 20, 2019, nine months ahead of schedule, and entered the one-year defect liability period. It entered the three-year maintenance period on Mar 22, 2020, and passed the final joint acceptance by the owner on Oct 12, 2023.
The project received the maintenance completion certificate on June 25, 2024, signifying the complete handover of section 193.
As the first project of its kind to have received maintenance approval and obtained the completion certificate, the section 193 project has enhanced POWERCHINA's brand recognition and influence.
