Judith Suminwa Tuluka, prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), along with officials from various government departments of South Kivu Province, inspected the PK10-PK15 section of the Bukavu Road Project, which is being constructed by POWERCHINA.
During the inspection, Judith received a detailed briefing on the project's progress, upcoming work plans, implementation of key areas, and the status and planning of subsequent funding.
Before the inspection concluded, Judith was interviewed by local media. She expressed great satisfaction with the project's progress and quality and highly commended POWERCHINA for carefully organizing construction during the rainy season while ensuring road accessibility and for significantly creating a large number of local employment opportunities over the years.
She emphasized the importance of the project to the community and urged continued support and cooperation from every party to ensure that this vital project is completed and put into use as soon as possible.
The Bukavu RN5 Road PK5-PK10 section, spanning 5 kilometers, is a municipal asphalt concrete road and part of the RN5 National Highway, as well as the only route from Bukavu to Uvira. It is expected to significantly contribute to the economic development of urban and rural areas along the route.
