The first science popularization exchange event of the China-Indonesia Youth Communication on Renewable Energy Development Program was recently held at theBatang Toru Hydro Electric Power Plant, which is being constructed by POWERCHINA in Indonesia, attracting over 20 young Indonesian representatives with bachelor degrees or higher.

The China-Indonesia Youth Communication on Renewable Energy Development Program aims to promote mutual exchange and development among Chinese and Indonesian youth, encouraging their participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the event, Chinese technical experts focused on five topics: hydropower plant principles, geological knowledge of the project , turbine operating principles, engineering software applications, and new energy development.

They conducted science popularization exchanges with Indonesian youth in collaboration with project site staff, local Indonesian universities, and Indonesian youth organizations. The Indonesian participants were particularly interested in learning about the origin and history of the traditional Chinese luban lock, and excitedly tried to unlock and reassemble a heart-shaped luban lock within three minutes, developing a keen interest in the wisdom of ancient Chinese craftsmen and Chinese architectural culture.

The young Indonesians said that the event showcased China's infrastructure strength and provided them with a fountain of practical knowledge. They hope to engage in work that promotes cooperation between the two countries and enhances Indonesia's infrastructure, allowing energy to reach more Indonesian households.
