The operational acceptance certificate for the Golovnaya 240 Megawatts Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project.
POWERCHINA received the operational acceptance certificate for the Golovnaya 240 Megawatts Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project on July 30, which was issued by the Tajikistan Project Management Unit (PMU) on July 25, marking the successful completion and formal handover of the project.
Emomali Rahmon, president of Tajikistan, has followed the project closely, personally presiding over the commencement ceremony. Except for the commissioning ceremony of the first unit, which was attended by the Prime Minister, President Rahmon personally attended the commissioning ceremonies of the other four units, offering high praise for the POWERCHINA team.
During the reconstruction and upgrading process, POWERCHINA overcame numerous challenges, and meticulously designed and customized each aspect of the project. All five units were commissioned ahead of the contract schedule.
After six years, this aging hydropower station, over fifty years old, was rejuvenated, with its installed capacity increased to 270 MW, effectively resolving Tajikistan's long-standing power shortage issues. Additionally, POWERCHINA hired over 150 local employees, creating job opportunities and economic benefits for the local community.
