Kenyan president attends unveiling ceremony for section 642 of rural road project

William Ruto, president of Kenya, attended the groundbreaking and unveiling ceremony for section 642 of the rural road project, built by POWERCHINA, on Aug 7. He was accompanied by the vice president and other senior officials.

At the ceremony, Ruto received a detailed briefing on the project and unveiled the project plaque himself. He also personally activated onsite equipment, officially announcing the project's commencement and delivering a speech. He emphasized that road construction is a key driver of Kenya's economic growth and a crucial means of improving the livelihood of its people.

He highlighted that the section 642 project is a vital part of Embu County's transportation network and expressed confidence that its implementation will greatly enhance local transport conditions, bringing new opportunities for local prosperity.

In addition, he engaged warmly with representatives of POWERCHINA and affirmed the company’s significant contributions to the country's infrastructure and economic development through numerous projects.

The section 642 project is located in Embu County, Kenya, and involves a 42-kilometer road with a 6-meter-wide carriageway. The project consists of asphalt concrete roads, culverts, box culverts, drainage facilities and other related infrastructure.
