Kenyan President attends road project unveiling ceremony

Kenyan President Ruto unveils the project plaque.

William Ruto, President of Kenya, attended the unveiling ceremony on Aug 14 for sections 595 and 643 of the rural road project undertaken by POWERCHINA. He was accompanied by the vice president and other senior officials.

Ruto received a detailed briefing on the project and highly praised POWERCHINA for its long-standing contributions to Kenya, particularly in infrastructure improvement.

Together with the owner's representative, Ruto unveiled the project plaque at the ceremony. He highlighted that the project will foster talent cultivation and job creation, thereby boosting long-term development for the region. He also noted that it will significantly improve road conditions, bringing convenience and benefits to local communities.

Sections 595 and 643 are located in Kisii County and Nyamira County, Kenya, and span 23.1 kilometers and 60.1 km, respectively. The construction includes asphalt concrete paving, construction of standard and box culverts, comprehensive upgrades to road drainage systems, and other related works.
