Zambia Power Development Forum is held at POWERCHINA's Beijing headquarters.

The Zambia Power Development Forum, organized by POWERCHINA, took place at its Beijing headquarters on Sept 4. Hakainde Hichilema, president of Zambia, and Ding Yanzhang, chairman of POWERCHINA, attended the forum and delivered speeches.

In his speech, President Hichilema thanked POWERCHINA for organizing the forum and emphasized its critical role in strengthening renewable energy collaboration between Zambia and China and driving Zambia's energy transition.

He hoped POWERCHINA would continue to maintain its leadership in energy, power, and infrastructure construction, remain committed to Zambia, and further expand cooperation across various sectors.

Chairman Ding reaffirmed POWERCHINA's dedication to employing its integrated industry chain to collaborate with Zambia in advancing the country's sustainable economic and social development.

The forum was held during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which further strengthened China-Africa's comprehensive strategic partnership and advanced the vision of a closer China-Africa community with a shared future.

POWERCHINA has been a significant contributor to Zambia's engineering sector for over 25 years, having successfully completed nearly 50 projects spanning energy, water resources, municipal infrastructure, transportation, and mining. Noteworthy accomplishments include the establishment of power stations with a combined installed capacity exceeding 1,500 megawatts, as well as the development of over 1,100 kilometers of power grids and 1,000 km roads.
