The opening ceremony of the Hercegovina Bridge (formerly known as Pocitelj Bridge), built by POWERCHINA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, took place on Sept 4, marking the official handover.

Prime Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and POWERCHINA, attended the bridge opening ceremony. They congratulated all parties involved in the project and expressed gratitude to all the employees who contributed to its completion.

The bridge is part of the 11-kilometer highway project along pan-European Corridor Vc. The bridge officially opened to traffic at noon on Sept 5, becoming an important link between Bosnia, Herzegovina and Croatia (EU).

As a key project of the pan-European Corridor Vc highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Hercegovina Bridge has a main structure length of 945 meters, a deck width of 21.92 meters, a maximum pier height of 97 meters, and a main span of 147 meters.

It is currently the country's longest bridge, and one of the most complex and technically challenging structures on the pan-European Corridor Vc highway. The bridge features large spans, high piers, and multi-span continuous rigid frames, with a single-deck, dual-direction, four-lane curved design.
