Gabonese Prime Minister inspects Kinguélé hydropower station project

Prime Minister Sima tours the Kinguélé Downstream Hydropower Station.

On Sept 10, Raymond Ndong Sima, prime minister of Gabon, along with several government officials, visited the construction site of the Kinguélé Downstream Hydropower Station, a project undertaken by POWERCHINA.

During the visit, Sima commended POWERCHINA as a trustworthy partner, capable of delivering a high-quality hydropower station for the people of Gabon.

Sima and his delegation toured several key construction areas throughout the inspection and received detailed project briefings. Sima praised POWERCHINA's professional expertise and highlighted that the project is a model of energy cooperation between China and Gabon. 

He noted that the project has introduced advanced power technology and management practices to Gabon, injecting vitality into the country's economic and social development. Once completed, the hydropower station will greatly alleviate Gabon's electricity shortage, enhance national energy security, and bring tangible benefits to the people of Gabon.

The Kinguélé Downstream Hydropower Station is a low-head, pressurized diversion facility with an installed capacity of 34.95 megawatts and an annual power generation of 200.82 million kilowatt-hours.
