POWERCHINA receives the award at the 2024 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.

POWERCHINA received the Overseas Security Excellence Practice Award at the 2024 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang), held from Sept 9 to 10.

The award recognized the Mauriti Photovoltaic Project in Brazil, constructed by POWERCHINA, for its localized management, security management system, and green development commitment. The review panel also lauded the project as a model of the DOBT (Design, Operate, Build, Transfer) approach within the BRICS renewable energy sector.

As POWERCHINA's first overseas new energy investment project utilizing the DOBT model, it overcame numerous challenges. POWERCHINA established a tailored security management system to ensure the safety of all employees, which played a critical role in the project's implementation.

The project has also received awards such as the "Security Contribution Award" from the Mauriti Police Department and the "Annual Municipal Contribution Award" from the Mauriti Municipal Government. It continues to earn high praise from Brazilian government departments, investors, and community stakeholders.

Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance energy efficiency and environmental benefits, saving approximately 344,000 metric tons of coal annually. It has also provided over 5,000 jobs, facilitated the integration of the supply chain, and achieved balanced economic and environmental development, positively contributing to the local economy.
