On Sept 12, POWERCHINA received the completion certificate from the project consultant for the CP02 section of Dhaka Metro Line 6 (MRT 6) in Bangladesh, marking the successful conclusion of this landmark project.
MRT 6 Project began construction on Sept 14, 2017, and all works were completed by Feb 15, 2023, followed by an 18-month defect liability period.
Throughout the project, POWERCHINA demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility, overcoming numerous challenges to ensure steady progress. MRT 6 officially began operations in December 2022, and has since been transporting around 300,000 passengers daily.
The line has drastically reduced commute times from two hours to just 30 minutes, significantly enhancing the quality of life for local residents. This achievement has earned widespread recognition from both the local government and the public.
As the only Chinese enterprise involved in the construction of Dhaka MRT 6, POWERCHINA has garnered a strong international reputation thanks to the project, laying a solid foundation for further expansion into the Bangladeshi market.
