Louis Steven Obeegadoo, Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius, and Zhu Liying, Chinese ambassador to Mauritius, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Wooton 126-unit housing project constructed by POWERCHINA.
Obeegadoo highlighted that the project is a key livelihood initiative in Mauritius, aiming to effectively alleviate urban housing pressures, especially for low-income families. He praised POWERCHINA for its contributions in Mauritius, emphasizing its successful implementation of various beneficial projects that have promoted local infrastructure and economic development.
Located in the town of Curepipe in Mauritius, the project involves the design and construction of 126 affordable housing units and their supporting facilities, including water supply and sewage networks, roads, and commercial units, with a construction period of 500 days. The project will significantly enhance the living conditions and quality of life for local residents, while also boosting regional economic development.
This project marks another achievement for POWERCHINA after 14 years of dedicated efforts in the Mauritian market, showcasing its outstanding infrastructure construction capabilities and its vision of joint development with Mauritius.
