The Ivirizu Hydroelectric Power Project in Bolivia, being built by POWERCHINA, recently achieved its water storage milestone, marking a new phase in the project's development.

Divided into 19 sections, the project's dam has a maximum height of 125 meters and a crest length of 368 meters. The crest elevation is 2,177.588 meters, and the width at the top is 10 meters. A total of 1.04 million cubic meters of roller-compacted concrete was used. The station has an installed capacity of 279.9 megawatts and an annual power generation capacity of 119.05 MW.

The water storage phase is a critical milestone for the project. POWERCHINA took many measures to ensure that the dam impoundment on schedule. The water level is currently remaining stable within the proper range and all safety indicators and functionality tests have been confirmed to be normal.

Once completed, the project will provide a stable power supply to support industrial development in Cochabamba Province – where the project is located – and neighboring provinces, offering clean energy to the region and clean electricity to surrounding countries.
