The 115-kilovolt substation in Udon Thani.
The 115-kilovolt substation in Udon Thani, Thailand, built by POWERCHINA in an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) model, was recently handed over, which reflects the high-quality localized performance of POWERCHINA.
The project owner is EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand). POWERCHINA is responsible for the upgrade and expansion of a 115kV substation, the installation of two new 22kV cable-to-overhead lines to the PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) station, the construction of a control building, a 22kV switchgear room, and fire protection upgrades.
With the completion of the project, it will not only significantly ease the load on the transmission system in northern Thailand, but also plays a key role in enhancing energy security and promoting clean energy development in the region. Furthermore, the project will help optimize Thailand's power network, improving energy efficiency, ensuring stable grid operation, and supporting economic and social development.
