On Oct 26, the Shelek Wind Farm in Kazakhstan, constructed by POWERCHINA, generated more than 500 million kilowatt-hours of cumulative power.

POWERCHINA adjusts maintenance schedules flexibly according to weather forecasts, optimizing repair work without interrupting power generation. Focusing on "power generation management" as a strategic priority, POWERCHINA develops scientifically based production strategies, optimizes management workflows, and adheres to the principle of "maximizing every gust", aiming to maximize power output within given wind resource conditions.

The Shelek Wind Farm, located about 150 kilometers from Almaty in southeastern Kazakhstan, has 24 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 60 megawatts. Construction began on June 27, 2019, and the project reached full-capacity grid connection by July 2022. As POWERCHINA's first new energy project investment in Central Asia, it is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Kazakhstan.
