On Oct 24, the Mauritius Ebene Interchange Project, undertaken by POWERCHINA, was awarded the project handover certificate, marking the completion of the project's acceptance inspection. The project has been stepping into the two-year warranty phase.

This project is a key component of the country's national road construction and improvement plan. It is located in the Ebene Financial and Commercial District of Quatre Bornes, in the heart of the CBD. The project primarily involved the construction and expansion of three interchanges, seven ramps, and related infrastructure. It serves as an essential transportation hub linking the M1 and M3 highways.

POWERCHINA faced several challenges during construction, including limited on-site space, severe traffic congestion, complex traffic diversion conditions, and complicated construction processes. To overcome these obstacles, POWERCHINA actively communicated with the local traffic management authority and conducted 11 traffic diversion measures to ensure the orderly construction of on-site operations.

POWERCHINA innovatively applied flexible reinforced earth retaining walls as a new prefabricated concrete retaining walls technology. This not only significantly accelerated construction progress but also reduced project costs. The solution occupied less land, was aesthetically pleasing, and became a beautiful addition to the local architectural landscape.

Once operational, the project will greatly improve traffic conditions in the Ebene area, optimize transportation conversion functions, enhance the region's commercial vitality, and promote the revival and development of local tourism. It will become an important part of the area’s urban transportation network.
